German Twp. Bartholomew County House fire
A mother and two children narrowly escaped
a fast moving fire that began as they slept.
The fire is believed to have originated in the kitchen, possibly from food left on the stove, and accelerated by flammable nail polish remover stored near the stove.
Smoke alarms alerted the mother who led the two children to safety through smoky conditions and visible flames from the kitchen area of the new home.
Fire departments from German Twp., Columbus Twp. And Clifford fought the fire.
Damaged to the residence was extensive.
